Martin Jacques, writer, columnist, and author of When China Rules the World gave a thought provoking talk that can been seen on TED Talks:

He argues that we begin to understand China not from a Western perspective but from seeing the world through their eyes and he describes many differences between China and the West. He states that while Goldman Sacks had been projecting that China's economy would equal ours by 2025, now, because of the recent economic collapse they will equal our size by 2010 or in just ten years.
The critical question of course is how we and other western nations will respond to the rapidly changing world in the 21st century.
